A scaffolding having an infinitely adjustable lifting platform (3) which can be vertically adjusted, by means of lifting cables (7), along supports (2) arranged in an upright manner on an undercarriage (1). Stabilising cables (12) which run obliquely with respect to one another and with respect to the plane of the undercarriage (1) are arranged between the lifting platform (3) and said undercarriage (1) in order to stabilise the lifting platform (3). In order to simplify design and handling, the lifting and stabilising cables are in each case connected to one another to form a common cable and can be synchronously wound onto, or unwound from, one or more cable reels (10) which are driven in unison. Furthermore, the undercarriage (1) is configured in such a manner that it can, at the same time, be used as the frame of a motor-vehicle trailer or the like. <IMAGE>
