A sliding roof has a sliding roof cover which is arranged in a roof opening and is sealed from the edge of the roof opening by means of a circumferential seal. A rain channel, which is also circumferential, catches the water which penetrates between the seal and the edge of the roof opening under unfavourable conditions. A droplet lip on the seal ensures that the water also actually passes into the rain channel. The droplet lip has a larger height parallel to the front edge of the roof opening than parallel to the rear edge. As a result, penetration of water into the inside of the vehicle is also prevented in the region of the rear edge itself even under unfavourable conditions.
