Internal combustion engine with rotary hinged pistons with new type of sealing and separate cyclical process, which in addition to high thermal efficiency and engine performance affords especially favourable combustion conditions at very high ignition temperature, and consequently low fuel consumption, minimal pollutant emissions and use with all fuels. At the same time small overall volume and weight, no catalytic converter and no heat exchanger. Series of compression and expansion units on the engine circumference for core process from last compression to first expansion stage. First compressor and last expansion stage possibly in separate rotary piston or turbo units. Rotor (51) controls working cylinder (52) with double-acting hinged pistons (53) and timing ports (55) along inlet-exhaust pairs of compression (72, 73) and expansion (74-77) units. Inlets and exhausts lie in segments (58-62) of a peripherally elastic seal bushing (57), which pressed on to micro-gap height (56) floats on barrier oil films by way of threaded shaft seals. Seal bushing, rotor, hinged pistons and working cylinder oil-cooled so that micro gaps everywhere guaranteed contact free, as a result of which leakage losses are bearable. In the hot very small combustion chamber (81) rapid isochoric-isothermic combustion with high frequency (300Hz) compressed air introduction, fuel injection and hot gas expansion and extraction by passing working chambers (82, 87).
