PURPOSE:To provide a nowax material for ski, exhibiting excellent antislip effect and effective to prevent the difficulty in advance caused by the adhesion of snow and the noise generated in skiing, by kneading a synthetic rubber, a high-impact polystyrene, silica, and fibrous floc in molten state, and applying the sheet of the kneaded material to the sliding surface of a ski. CONSTITUTION:Less than 84pts.(wt.) of a synthetic rubber is compounded with >=10pts. of high-impact polystyrene, >=5pts. of silica and >=1pt. of fibrous floc to obtain a base composition, and the base is kneaded in molten state, formed to a sheet, and applied to the sliding surface of a ski. The base composition may be incorporated with >=5pts. of natural rubber, and the silica may be replaced with carbon. The fibrous floc is nylon fiber and the diameter and length are selected according to the pressure applied to the snow by the ski. EFFECT:Excellent low-temperature characteristics, resistant to cracking, excellent oil-resistance and heat-resistance, and resistant to degradation with wax.
