PURPOSE:To enhance the quality of printing by including finely powdered cellulose of 250mum or less in an amount of 10-98% of the constituents of an ink- receiving layer in the ink-receiving layer provided on the ink-receiving face of a transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:An ink sheet 3 having a heat-meltable ink layer 2 on the surface of its ink sheet base material 1 is lapped on a transfer paper 5. An image signal from a thermal head 6 is given to them in the form of heat, and melted ink is transferred to the paper 5 with an ink-receiving layer 4 on the transfer paper base 7 to obtain a hard copy. A coating containing finely powdered cellulose is coated on the layer 4 and subjected to a super-calender process, forming a smoothened surface of a Becke's smoothness of 2,000sec or more, with arranged cellulose fibers having high adhesiveness for melted ink. When using the material as a transfer paper for modulation of dot surfaces by modulation of applied energy, excellent texture and excellent writability can be exhibited because the surface is made of resin-bonded cellulose. |
