A bonded abrasive tool, particularly in the form of a grinding wheel, comprises (a) at least 15%, preferably 75-50%, by volume of fused alumina grain and (b) at least 15%, preferably 25-50%, by volume of fused zirconia grain; most suitably (a) and (b) are present in substantially equal amounts by volume. The bond may be of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, e.g. butadiene-acrylonitrile or butadiene-styrene polymers, thermosetting resin, e.g. phenolic resins, or shellac. |
