In a device of this type, retention in the tube before or after the extracting operation is only possible by tilting the device. In order to ensure reliable retention of the device even if the extracting operation is interrupted, a push tube (18) is provided in the annular space (15) between the tie rod (9) and the hollow piston (16) of a hollow-piston cylinder (17) actuated by pressure medium. With its top end face, the push tube adjoins a shoulder (19) of the extracting claw (11). It is connected at its bottom end to a flange (20) through which the tie rod (9) passes. The flange (20) projects into the interior space (21) of a housing (22) screwed to the shell of the hollow-piston cylinder (17). The housing body carries two clamping cylinders (23) which project with their free ends movable in the axial direction into recesses (24) in the flange (20). The push tube (18) can be moved in the direction of the tube plate (1) within the limits of the distance (27) by actuating the clamping cylinders (23). The resulting frictional connection between extracting claw (11) and the inner wall of the tube (5) is sufficient to retain the extracting device in its position. <IMAGE>
