PURPOSE:To elevate the measuring accuracy, by detecting a pulse from a magnetized head provided along moving string with detection heads arranged at a equal space before and after the head while a demagnetizing head is provided outside the detection head. CONSTITUTION:Detection heads 3 and 4 are provided at a fixed space l on both sides of a magnetized head 2 set closer to a wire rope 1 while demagnetizing heads 5 and 6 are provided on the opposite side thereto sandwitching the rope 1 close to the outside of the heads 3 and 4. Then, in the delivery and withdrawal of the rope 1 with a winch drum, a magnetic mark is attached to the rope 1 in the form of a pulse with the head 2 and the, detected with the head 3 or 4 to calculate the moving speed of the rope 1. Otherwise, The movement of the rope 1 is measured from the number of marks to demagnetize the mark with the heads 5 and 6.
