PURPOSE:To get rid of disconnection in time of wire stretching and improve its yield rate ever so better as well as to make improvements in machining speed in case of using as an electrode wire, by using a Cu-CeB6 alloy comprising CeB6 of below 1mum in grain size as much as 0.1-5.0wt%. CONSTITUTION:CeB6 powder is added to Cu powder as much as 0.1-5.0wt% to the whole quantity. This is because a work function is made smaller and discharge efficiency is to be raised up. Next, the said mixture is mechanically mixed in addition in order to atomize the CeB6 and to homogeneously mix the Cu and the CeB6. And, the CeB6 is homogeneously mixed in the Cu as a minute particle of below 1mum in grain size, making it come into a state of being resembled to a kind of an alloy. With this constitution, uniform discharge and an increase in machining speed both are made attainable, and since fine CeB6 is homogeneously dispersed, movement of dislocation in time of wire stretching operation is made so easy. Then, the said dispersed mixture is granulated into grain size being easy to do the wire stretching operation afterward. This particle is processed through a conventional method, making up it into an electrode wire upon the wire stretching. |
