发明名称 APPARATUS FOR MEASURING TRANSMISSION CHARACTERISTIC OF OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To elevate the measuring accuracy of transmission distortion, by a method wherein a measuring device is provided with a streak unit and a pulse light is connected simultaneously to a reference optical fiber and an optical fiber to be compared to measure the characteristics of the optical fiber to be compared based on an output image of the streak unit. CONSTITUTION:A measuring apparatus is made up of a streak unit comprising a streak tube 7 and a streak tube driver 15, a power source unit 10 comprising a laser diode 12 or the like, a laser beam ramifier 9, a reference optical fiber 1 with the output end thereof connected to the streak tube 7, an optical fiber 2 to be compared and the like. Then, when a fast light pulse is generated from the light source unit 10, an image develops on the fluorescent surface 7a of the streak tube 7 by light from the reference optical fiber 1 while an image does so by light from the optical fiber 2 being compared. Thus, the time-based intensity distribution of the images are compared to enable accurate measurement of transmission distortion of the optical fiber 2 being compared.
