PURPOSE:To simplify the work discriminating apparatus other than the first work station by judging the kind of a work through the measurement of dimension by a work discriminating apparatus at the first working station and working a discrimination hole. CONSTITUTION:In a work discriminating apparatus 10 installed in the first working station, a work W, e.g., a crankshaft allows an engaging member 25 to contact with a crank pin Wa by the operation of the first cylinder 26. The engaging member 25a urged by a spring 27a is followed and attached onto Wb, and the pin stroke (s) is measured by a stroke detector 28. The stan dard length (l) is measured by a length measuring apparatus 30, and the kind of the work W is judged from the both detection values. On the basis of the result of the judgement, a discriminating-hole working apparatus is shifted so that a drill is set on the same axis to the work W, and a discrimination hole having the depth corresponding to the kind of the work W is worked at the center of the edge of the axis of the work W. Therefore, after the second station, the simple discrimination is permitted only by detecting the depth of the discrimination hole. |
