Web is taken from cards disposed in the sense of production and at 90 degrees to this direction, by means of rotating cylinders or electrodes. To align the fibres the web goes through an electrostatic field or passes between a pair of cylinders. It is then dispersion set, and dried. The webs are superposed in known way at 90 degrees, 90 degrees, then mechanically and heat treated, and simultaneously profiled. Preferably setting is by means of fine sprays, foam, or addition of thermoplastic fibres. |
