PURPOSE:To improve the trueing efficiency by carrying-out trueing by allowing a truer tool to traverse in revolution in the state where a grindstone is dressed by a dressing tool. CONSTITUTION:In the trueing work for a grindstone 12, a prescribed amount of cutting feed is given onto a truer base 21, dressing the grindstone 12 by a prescribed amount of feed of a correcting base 40, in the state where the grindstone 12, dressing tool 41, and a truer tool 23 are revolved, and a traverse base 20 is traversed by a servomotor. Then, a chip pocket is formed by cutting the bond of the grindstone 12 by the dressing tool 41, and in this state, trueing is carried-out by the truer tool 23, and therefore, resistance is reduced, and the abrasion of the truer tool is lightened. Further, the outer periphery of the grindstone can be trued in parallel to the revolution axis line and the amount of trueing is increased, and the trueing efficiency can be improved.
