<p>A brushless motor (100) comprises a magnet (109) having a plurality of pole faces (N,S), a plurality of conductors (110,111) mounted adjacent to the pole faces (N, S), and a plurality of phase coils (114) connected together at a neutral point (0). The magnet (109) is included in the motor rotor (102) and the phase coils (114) are included in the motor stator (101). A high-frequency signal source (116) supplies a high-frequency signal to the neutral point (0), whereby changes in eddy current loss and thus the position of the rotor (102) with respect to the stator (101) are detected.</p> |
