PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform cooling temp. at whole positions of a steel stock by controlling the cooling means of Stelmor conveyor based on the transfer speed of a steel stock and the temp. in the cooling of the steel stock on said conveyor. CONSTITUTION:A steel stock 5A is rolled in a wire rod 5B by a block mill BM and made an annular steel stock 5C on passing through a laying head LH. The steel stock 5C is formed in a coil shape by a tab RT with being cooled by blowers B1-Bn during its transfer on the Stelmor conveyor. A cooling control part CC detects the steel stocks 5B, 5C by the sensors of hot metal detectors 1A-1C and a flag switch, etc. and tracks the position which is from the tip of the steel stock 5C. It further memorizes the speed of the mill BM and the temp. of the steel stock 5B corresponding to the position of from the steel stock 5B tip. The number of revolutions of the blowers B1-Bn is controlled based on the transfer speed and temp. memorized in the control part CC from the time when the steel stock 5C arrived at on the conveyor SC. |
