Oxidation-type hair-dyeing means based on 4-amino-2-hydroxyalkyl-phenols having the general formula (I), whereby R denotes a monohydroxyl residue with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or the salt thereof as a developer substance. The object of the patent application is, furthermore, the new developer substance 4-amino-2-(2'-hydroxyethyl)-phenol. The developer substances of formula (I) display, for the same good-quality dyeing behaviour, physiologically better properties than p-aminophenol which is mainly used for dyeing operations in the red colour range. |
