PURPOSE:To prevent excessive compression of a scroll compressor, preclude abnormal pressure increase in it due to compression of liquid and thereby improve its compression efficiency by forming, on its fixed scroll end plate, auxiliary delivery holes equipped with delivery valves communicating with compression chambers. CONSTITUTION:In the center of a fixed scroll end plate, a delivery hole 13 is formed. Separately from this delivery hole 13, a pair of auxiliary delivery holes 17, 17 communicating with compression chambers 16, 16 in the process of compression are formed. The auxiliary delivery holes 17, 17 are fitted with delivery valves, which are opened or closed owing to operation of the pressure within the closed container and compression chambers 16, 16. And in the event that the fixed pressure ratio of the compressor is bigger than the pressure ratio of high pressure- and low pressure-parts in the pump system, or in the case that abnormal pressure increase occurs as a result of liquid compression, the auxiliary delivery holes 17, 17 are made to open, thereby preventing excessive compression.
