PURPOSE:To stably control coke oven temp., by converting deviation between a representative coke oven group temp. and a target oven temp. into proprtional- plus-integral action output and inputting an output of a proportional-plug- derivative feedback action of the representation oven group temp. into the output, to compute and set a fuel gas flow rate. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of combustion chambers 1 at different steps of carbonization are selected in order to cancel temp. variation due to the carbonization cycle. Temperatures 2 of these chambers are measured and oven temp. characteristics and combustion alternation noise characteristics are immediately smoothed by a smoothing mechanism 3 to determine a representative oven group temp. Then deviation, e(t), between the representative oven group temp. and a target temp. is inputted into a proportional-plus-integral (PI) action mechanism 4, to compute fuel flow rate variation in proportion to the deviation. Oven temp. is stably controlled by further inputting the representative temp. processed by the smoothing mechanism 3 into a proportional-plus-derivative (PD) feedback action mechanism 5, where it is processed, and adding the control signal therefrom to the output signal of the PI action mechanism 4 to further adjust variation of the quantity of the fuel.
