3-iPr-norbornanamines of general formula I R and R' = H or C1-5 alkyl (esp. Et) Antihypertensive agents. By condensation of cyclopentadiene (II) with 3-Me-1-NO2-but-1-en (III) followed by redn. to I (R = R' = H). Conversion to the sec. amine NHR' is by treatment with R'COOH or R'CONH2 and reducing the resulting amide with LiAlH4. The tert. amine is obtd. by a modified Leuckart reaction on the sec. amine by treatment with R.CHO + HCOOH where R = alkyl. |
