PURPOSE:To obtain a polyurethane improved in coloration and is highly safe in the production, by mixing a specified carbonate/epsilon-caprolactone copolymer with a chain extender or a crosslinking agent and an isocyanate. CONSTITUTION:A polyurethane is produced from a carbonate/epsilon-caprolactone random copolymer, a chain extender or a crosslinking agent and an isocyanate, wherein a copolymer comprising a dialkyl carbonate, a dihydroxy compound, epsilon-caprolactone and an epoxy compound is used as said copolymer. Examples of the epoxy compounds used include ethylene oxide, methyl glycidyl ether and epoxidized soybean oil, and these epoxy compounds are added so that epoxy groups of the formula may be present in an amount of 0.2-0.002mol per 1,000g of dialkyl carbonate.
