CHLOROACETATE DERIVATIVE AND GERMICIDE

摘要

NEW MATERIAL:The 2-nitroalkyl chloroacetate of formula (R<1> and R<2> are H or lower alkyl). USE:Germicide exhibiting excellent germicidal activity against various molds, Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria. It can be used easily without causing phytotoxicity no necessitating the release of gas which is a complicate operation essential in the treatment with chloropicrin. PREPARATION:The compound of formula can be produced either by reacting 2-nitroalkyl alcohol with chloroacetyl chloride or chloroacetic anhydride in the presence of a base or condensing 2-nitroalkyl alcohol with chloroacetic acid in the presence of an acid acceptor.
