PURPOSE:To ensure the smooth operation of a common card application system by reading the card issure side name and the balance out of a common card and then writing the amount obtained by subtracting the transaction amount from said balance to the common card in the form of a balance. CONSTITUTION:A card reader/writer 4 reads and writes magnetically a common (magnetic) card inserted through a card insertion/ejection slit 13. A lamp display circuit 5 controls the switch-on of a read OK lamp 14. The fare data is applied to a CPU1 from a fare meter 7 of a taxi via an input port 6. The common card contains a memory area for the balance and the issure side name. An RAM3 contains a memory area for the data on transactions using the card of another company, i.e., the fare (requested amount), the name of the card issure company and the date. The storage data of the RAM3 is delivered through an output port 8. A reply unit 9 is connected to the port 8 when data are transferred to a totalizer 10 at a center. |
