PURPOSE:To expose quickly the foul user of an ID card by providing an emergency informing means to a CAT (credit inquiry terminal). CONSTITUTION:When the ID card is inserted to a CAT, a data entry processing is carried out through a card reading operation. The card information is transmitted to a host computer to give an inquiry to a center for the confirmation of credit. The host computer collates the received card information with a negative file of the center and transmits an answer message to the CAT to indicate the execution of the emergency processing in case the fault use of the card is detected. The CAT dials automatically the designated dial No.1 of the receiver of the emergency information. Then the CAT transmits the emergency information message when an answer is given from the information receiver within the prescribed period of time. |
