PURPOSE:To enlarge and reduce vertical and horizontal sizes independently of each other by performing the vertical or lateral reading after expanding the compressed data and compressing the data again to restore it through an expanding circuit. CONSTITUTION:The data read out every line are compressed by a compression circuit 1 and stored once in a compressed data memory 2. Then these compressed data are expanded by an expansion circuit 3. The expanded image data are read out and stored to an image memory 5. In such a case, the same line is read out twice or one line is reduced at every two lines, based on the output signal of an enlargement/reduction command part 9 which is controlled by the control data given from a host computer. Then a writing control part 8 is started to write the data to the memory 5. These written data are read out by an output control part 6 and delivered to a display device 7, etc. Thus optional enlargement/reduction data are obtained as shown in figures alpha-phi. |
