PURPOSE:To reduce the waiting time for disc rotation and to reduce the access time, by formating the logical sector number which is deviated by the sector number corresponding to one divided by integral number of track cycle provided on the medium at the next track each other. CONSTITUTION:The logical sector numbers of each adjacent track is so formated that they deviate each other by 1/p (here, p is an integral number specified in advance) of one cycle of a track, for example, by the number of logical sectors corresponding with the half cycle of a medium 1 each other. Therefore, in case a data is to be written continuously on the next track after come data is written on one track, it is not necessary to wait for one rotation of the device, and read/write head moves to the necessary track after the elapse of time necessary only for a step rate, settling time and command processing. And it can write immediately at the position where the first access is possible. In this way, the waiting time for rotation is reduced to half, and the access time is reduced to that extent. |
