PURPOSE:To omit the reproduction of an NC (numerical control) program tape by converting automatically the program tape into special characters and correcting the punching mistakes if detected with the tape. CONSTITUTION:A numerical controller is operated after the data on an NC program tape 1 are read by a tape reader 2 and then stored to a memory 5. In this case, a tape data check circuit 3 and a tape data converter 4 are used together with a switch circuit 6 and a continuous reading switch 7. Then the circuit 3 checks whether or not the data read by the reader 2 contains improper characters. The result DR of this check is sent to the circuit 6. If an error is detected with the read data, the reading operation is interrupted while the switch 7 is kept OFF. While the error data is converted into a special mark '?', for example, by the converter 4 when the switch 7 is kept ON. At the same time, this special mark is added to the end of the sequence and stored to the memory 5. Thus an error can be corrected by an editing operation after a reading operation for the correct operation of the numerical controller. |
