<p>5-Substd. 1,2-dihydro 6-methyl 2-oxo nicotino-nitrile cpds of formula (I), in which Ar is an opt substd. aromatic carbocyclic or heterocyclic gp e.g. phenyl, pyridyl, thiazolyl or other, are made by reacting diazonium salts of primary aromatic amines with 1,2-dihydro 6-methyl 2-oxo nicotinonitrile in aq. medium in presence of alkaline catalyst at -5 to +5 deg.C.</p> |
