The compsns. are based on polymer mixts. comprising (solids wt.) (A) 20-80, esp. 36-64% epoxy-acrylic graft copolymer prepd. by in situ polymerisation of unsatd. monomers in presence of an epoxy or epoxy-acrylate ester obtd. by esterifying a carboxy-functional polymer with an epoxy resin in presence of amine catalyst; and (B) 20-80, esp. 35-65% epoxy phosphate ester contg. 0.05-5, esp. 0.1-3 wt.% coreacted phosphoric acid. (A) is a mixt. comprising epoxy resin, epoxy-acrylic agraft copolymer, and ungrafted addn. polymer obtd. by insitu polymerisation of unsatd. monomers, including carboxy monomer, in presence of epoxy resin and min.3% (monomer wt.) peroxide catalyst:alternatively it comprises a preformed acrylic copolymer having carboxy functionality, esp. contg. min. 20% carboxy monomer, esterified with epoxy resin, esp. in presence of min. 2% amine catalyst. (B) is derived from an epoxy resin mol. wt. 200-10,000 and the mixt. may contain 1-10% aminoplast resin.
