Herbicidal compsn. contains an 8-substd.-3,(5,6 or 7)-dichloro -quinoline of formula (I) and S-(4-chloro-benzyl)-N,N-diethyl-thiocar bamate (II). In the formulae Y=O, S, =N-OH, H2, Cl2 or =N-A-B; A=direct bond or CH2; B=phenyl or pyridyl, both opt. substd. by Cl, NO2, Me, CF3 or OMe; R1=H, halogen, CN, -NR2R3, -COOH or -OM; R2 and R3=H, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C (sic)alkenyl, 1-6C hydroxyalkyl, formyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl or pyridyl; or R2+R3=(CH2)4 or (CH2)5 in which one CH2 gp. is opt. replaced by O, S or NMe; M=H, Gp. IA or IIA metal, 1-8C alkyl, phenyl (opt. substd. by halogen, NO2, 1-4C alkyl or trihalomethyl) or N(+)H2R2R3; or -C(=Y)-R1=CN. - Also claimed is a process for combatting undesired plant growth by post-emergence application of the mixt. of (I) and (II), pref. at 1-5 kg/ha.
