PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic toner resin having a wide mol.wt. distribution enlarged toward a higher mol.wt. side in a simple manner with low cost by using a peroxide having a specified structure as the polymn. initiator, and grafting a vinyl type monomer onto a high polymer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic toner resin is prepared by polymerizing a compsn. of a vinyl monomer, a high polymer having a number average mol.wt. of >=30,000 and as a polymn. initiator, a peroxides having a group represented by formula [I], such as 1,1-bis(tert-butylperoxy)cyclohexane, 2,2-bis(tert- butylperoxy)butane, or di-tert-butylperoxide. The vinyl type monomer to be used is of styrene type and (meth)acrylate type, etc., and the high polymer to be used is a copolymer prepared by copolymerizing said monomers as main constituents. |
