PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility of a car being stolen by operating a start switch to allow the start of its engine only when a key code is matched. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 16 reads a key code that corresponds to a numeric character based on the signal of the numeric character from memory 17 and sends it to a sending and receiving microcomputer 37. The microcomputer 37 determines whether the key code sent from the microcomputer 16 is the same as a key code that corresponds to the numeric character stored on a ROM and sent. If both are matched, the sending and receiving microcomputer 37 sends a signal indicating that both the key codes are matched and a signal indicating a door to a central unit 61. Then, the central unit 61 sends an unlocking signal to a control unit 63 for a door lock. The control unit 63 for the door lock operates an actuator 64 for the door lock and unlocks the door lock.
