RESIN COMPOSITION FOR USE IN METAL PRINTING

PURPOSE:To obtain a composition which can give varnish capable of affording coating film of high strength and printability, thus suitable for application to the body of metallic cartridge for photographic film, by blending specific short-oil alkyd resin and/or oil-free polyester resin, amino resin and higher alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by blending (A) 100pts.wt. of a short-oil alkyd resin with an oil length <=20 and/or oil-free polyester resin. (B) 20-50pts.wt. of an amino resin (pref. melamine resin or benzoquamine resin) and (C) 30-150pts.wt. of a higher alcohol (pref. of 12-16C). The component (A) is pref. 1,000-5,000 in the molecular weight and >=35 in the acid value.
