<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the positioning error of position marking due to tape mark jumping reading and to reduce the number of times of rerun due to the read error, by running the tape at a specified speed for the section necessary for the raise up of high running speed, during which the presence of the tape mark is checked, then transfer control of high running speed is executed. CONSTITUTION:MPU4 sets to a counter 13 the constant drive speed 70m/s which is necessary for a magnetic tape 2 to travel for a constant speed traveling section which corresponds with the distance from a stop point ST to point E. The MPU4 controls the speed constant from the point D to point E, and monitors the output data from a read amplifier 12, and judges whether the time set at the counter 13 has elapsed, and if a tape mark TM is not detected, motors 8a, 8b are decelerated from the point E, and they rotate to reverse direction from the point RT, and returns to the stop position ST via (d)-(e)-(f). Next, the MPU executes the high speed control (g)-(h) towards the positive direction. During the high speed drive (h), the existence of the tape mark TM is detected from the data read by a read up 12, and waits for an instruction of upper devices.</p> |
