PURPOSE:To prevent transmission of noise to the outside, by a method wherein a buffle plate, which shuts off communication of the air between the interior of a water turbine casing and the outside of a building, is located in the tailrace of a hydraulic power plant. CONSTITUTION:A buffle plate 2 is located in a tailrace 1, and serves to almost prevent transmission of noise to the outside of a power plant through shut off of communication of the air in a water turbine casing 3 with the open air 5 outside the power plant. A weir 6 is built in the tailrace 1 on the downstream side of the buffle plate 2, and this prevents the level of water, flowing through the tailrace 1, to be lowered than that of the buffle plate 2 during operation of a water turbine 7 at a low load. |
