ANODE CURRENT CONDUCTING BODY FOR ELECTROPLATING

PURPOSE:To suppress the voltage drop in the current conducting part of an anode current conducting body consisting of a Cu base body coated with a Ti layer and to minimize the damage owing to spark by spot-welding a Ti plate under specific conditions onto the Ti layer coating in contact with the anode. CONSTITUTION:The Ti plate 8 is superposed on the side where the anode current conducting body consisting of the Cu base body 2a having the Ti layer coating 2b contacts with the anode. The Ti layer coating 2a and the Ti plate 8 are then spot-welded. The conditions for the spot welding are determined at >=0.1 S/A when >=20mm L and >=0.1-0.75 S/A when <=20mm L where L: the diameter of the spot weld zone. S: the sum total of the spot welding area, A: the surface area on the contact side with the anode. The voltage drop in the anode current conducting part is thus decreased to a low level and the generation of the spark is decreased, by which the damage to the anode current conducting part is minimized.
