PURPOSE:To obtain a dummy breakage signal extremely near to an AE signal at the time of breakage, by converting tool breakage information to a digital signal through a converter element and using said digital signal as reakage data by applying signal processing to said signal to store the same in a memory means. CONSTITUTION:A drill 3 is rotated to form an opening to a work 2. When the drill 3 is broken at this time, the generated AE signal is transmitted to an amplifier 4 through a converter element 1 while the amplified breakage signal is converted to a digital signal at a predetermined sampling cycle by an A/D converter 5 to be successively stored in the predetermined region of RAM6. After the breakage of the tool was finished, the signal processing of the data thereof is performed by a signal processing apparatus 7. The signal processing apparatus 7 performs Laplace conversion and the Laplace inverse converted value of the signal at the time of breakage is held to the region of RAM6 as data and this data is preliminarily written in ROM8 by using a predetermined writing means. A dummy breakage signal generation apparatus uses the data of ROM8 to obtain a dummy breakage signal from the converter element 1. |
