<p>PURPOSE:To easily obtain a wide range of data by utilizing a small artificial satellite with reduced power, by throwing an artificial satellite having radar mounted thereto in the orbit in the vicinity of a place where cosmic suspended matter is ready to fly and observing the cosmic suspended matter from a close range by the radar mounted to the artificial satellite. CONSTITUTION:An electronic scanning antenna 10 is mounted to an artificial satellite 2 and the antenna elements 11, 12 of the electronic scanning antenna 10 are attached to the periphery of the satellite 2 in a strip form. An anntenna lobe 13 can be formed by adjusting the phases of the phase shifters 19-20 of the electronic scanning antenna 10 and can be radially rotated around the antenna 10 by changing the phases of the phase shifters 19-20 on the basis of certain determined function. Because the positions of two places 8, 9 in space of cosmic suspended matter and times, when said suspended matter passed said places, can be measured by forming two planes 3, 4 and 5, 6 crossing the plane formed by the rotation of the antenna lobe 13 at right angles, effective orbit information can be obtained.</p> |
