PURPOSE:To improve the quality of printing by making the shape and size of dots constant by coating the tip of needles with a liquid repellent in such a way as to prevent the staying of ink on the tip of the needles at the time of flying ink. CONSTITUTION:The spherical tip 34 of a needle 24 is coated with a liquid repellent over its fixed range. A magnet is electrically energized, ink is pulled up to a slit 31 between poles 30 to form an ink film 32, and the needle 24 to form dots is projected toward a recording paper 12. Since the tip 34 of the needle 24 is exposed to electric field from a power source, ink 43 adhered to the tip 34 of the needle 24 coming near the electrode 47 is flied toward the electrode 47 by the force of the electric field to form dots on the back side of the paper 12. Since the amount of ink 43 to be adhered to the tip 34 of the needle 24 is constant and the tip 34 of the needle 24 is coated with liquid repellent, ink adhered to the tip 34 can be all sparated from the needle 24 and flied. The amount of ink 1 to form dots can thus be kept constant. |
