To set up radio links between a vehicle and a stationary central station (Z), the vehicle transmits a signal which is received by a plurality of different transceiver units which are disposed along the route travelled by the vehicle and which are connected to a four-wire line (a1b1, a2b2). A DC voltage (Ux) is in each case generated from the received signal (Se) and provides an approximate measure of the quality of the received signal, this DC voltage (Ux) being fed on the one hand to the coupling-in device (EK) of the four-wire line (a1b1, a2b2) and being compared on the other hand with the voltage which is actually present on this coupling-in device (EK). If the DC voltage is greater than this voltage, the received signal (Se) is fed in AC form to this coupling-in device (EK). <IMAGE>
