PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a coating compound, etc. in high yield, by reacting hydroxy(meth)acrylate with a specific cyclic compound in the presence of a heteropoly acid so that the cyclic compound is subjected to ring opening and coaddition to the compound at relatively low temperature smoothly without causing coloring and by-products. CONSTITUTION:A hydroxy(meth)acrylate shown by the formula I (R is H, or methyl; Z is 2-8C bifunctional organic group) is reacted with a compound selected from cyclic compounds shown by the formula II [R<1> and R<2> are H, or <=20C (halo-substituted)hydrocarbon], formula III (R<3> and R<4> are as shown for R<1> and R<2>; X is halogen), formula IV (R<5> and R<6> are as shown for R<1> and R<2>), and formula V (R<7> and R<8> are H, hydrocarbon, and number of total carbon atoms of substituent group on lactone ring is <=12; p is 4-7) in the presence of a heteropolyacid and/or its salt, to give a compound shown by the formula VI (A is ring opening group of the compounds shown by the formula II and formula III; B is ring opening group of the compound shown by the formula IV; D is ring opening of the compound shown by the formula V; l, m, and n are 0 or 1-20, or l+n+m is 1-60). |
