PURPOSE:To relieve the stress concentration of a bearing part being in contact with and opposite to the neighborhood of the equator of a ball stud spherical head by flowing a pat of the bearing part into the ring-shaped concave groove on the inner circumference of a housing when upsetting the housing so as to form solidly a ring-shaped projection on the outer circumference of the bearing part. CONSTITUTION:First, an appropriate lubricant such as grease, etc. is applied to the spherical seat surface of a bearing part 7, and then a ball stud spherical head 6 is fitted in the spherical seat surface. And, the bearing part 7 containing the ball stud spherical head 6 is inserted into a housing part 9, and then the aperture side 12 of the housing through which a ball stud spindle part 5 is projected is formed by upsetting in a nearly semispherical shape with a upsetting tool 1 so as to cover the ball stud spherical head 6. While upsetting the housing in this way, a part of the bearing part 7 flows into a concave groove 11 on the inner circumferential wall of the housing, and a ring-shaped projection 15 is formed solidly on the outer circumference of the bearing part 7. |
