The control unit has a flow control valve (16) and a brake unit (51,52,71,89). During braking, pressure medium from the pump is controlled via the control valve and a back pressure valve (38) to the brake cylinder (89). A pressure is applied to a piston (52) and slide (51) and is adjusted so that the control oil flow from the pump to the container is interrupted. Pressure medium can flow to the brake unit. A disc (86) is fastened to the free end of the piston, to form a throttle passage (87) between back pressure valve and brake cylinder. This causes rapid and shock-free charging of the brake cylinder.
