PURPOSE:To obtain L-lysine in high productivity and accumulation property, by culturing a bacterial strain belonging to Brevibacterium genus, etc., and resistant to alpha-[bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-epsilon-caprolactam. CONSTITUTION:A mutant belonging to Brevibacterium genus or Corynebacterium genus, resistant to alpha-[bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-epsilon-caprolactam, and capable of producing and accumulating L-lysine, e.g. Brevibacterium lactofermentum (FERM P-7692), Corynebacterium glutamicum (FERM P-7690), is cultured in a conventional nutrient medium containing carbon source, nitrogen source, inorganic salts, etc., and the produced L-lysine is separated by conventional method such as ion-exchange resin treatment, etc.
