Water-repellent, weather-proof coating of silicones which remains free from surface leakage can be obtained by painting, spraying, or dipping. First a thin anchoring undercoat of ortho-silicic acid ester is applied, followed by a thicker layer of silicone rubber and/or silicone resin, mixed with fillers like calcium carbonate, quartz dust, kieselguhr, or silica, cross-linked with silicic acid ester and catalysts. |
