PURPOSE:To increase a penetration depth by providing an inert gas leading hole in the longitudinal direction of the inside of a consumable electrode, leading in an inert gas from its one end, also jetting it from the other end, and executing the welding. CONSTITUTION:As for a consumable electrode, namely, a wire 1, an inert gas leading hole 19 of an argon gas, etc. is provided on the inside of its longitudinal direction, and an inert gas is led in from one end. In the vicinity of the tip part of the wire 1, a contact tip 3 is placed, and also its outside is covered with a shield nozzle 4. When a welding current is made to flow, the wire 1 is melted by heat of an arc 5, but the tip part of the hole is opened by pressure of an inert gas 18 supplied from the leading hole 19. Accordingly, the gas 18 is jetted to a molten metal 6, and the arc 5 is reduced by a contraction of the arc 5, namely, a thermal effect. Therefore, a plasma air current increases and a welding penetration part increases. |
