PURPOSE:To yield a partially crosslinked rubber having qualities which are so stable that the Mooney viscosity and the amt. of insoluble matter do not vary with time during storage, by incorporating a specific proportion of a basic material together with a vulcanizer in the preparation of a partially crosslinked rubber. CONSTITUTION:A natural rubber or synthetic rubber such as butyl rubber or nitrile rubber, a vulcanizer (e.g., methylolated alkylphnol/formaldehyde resin, halogenated alkylphnol/formaldehyde resin), and a basic material (e.g., hexamethylenetetramine, triphenylamine) of 2.5wt times or less the amt. of the vulcanizer are kneaded in a Banbury mixer, etc. and heated to yield the intended partially crosslinked rubber. The resulting rubber is excellent is storage stability and well suited for self-adhesives, adhesives, sealings, caulkings, etc. |
