PURPOSE:The titled polymer excellent in O2 permeability, UV resistance, surface hardness, hydrophilicity, etc., obtained by (co)polymerizing a specified monomer with, optionally, a F-containing methacrylate, a hydrophilic monomer, a methacryl group-containing monomer, etc. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (wherein X and X' are each F, a perofluoro-lower-alkyl, Y is F or perfluoroalkoxy and m is 1-8) is hydrolyzed and then reacted with a reactive methacrylic acid derivative (e.g., methacryloyl chloride) in the presence of copper powder and a polymerization inhibitor to obtain a monomer of formula II (wherein n is 0 or 1). 30-100wt% this monomer is (co)polymerized with, optionally, 10-40wt% F-containing methacrylate, 5-15wt% hydrophilic monomer or silicon-containing monomer, 5-50wt% methacryl group-containing monomer and 0.1-5wt% monomer containing at least two polymerizable functional groups to obtain the titled polymer having a number-average MW of 700-20,000, an oxygen permeability coefficient of 3X10<-10>-90X10<-9>cc.cm/cm<2>.sec.cmHg and a refractive index of a sheet molding of 1.35-1.52.
