PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of resolution capability of an SLA (focusing light transmitting array) due to position shift and to simplify the production of the base table by arranging LEDs (light emitting diodes) straight and setting the reflecting surface opposite to the LED unit on the base table, as well as incorporating the pressing surface to hold the original in the base table and by fixing the SLA on the table with screws. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric converting element group 2 is composed of the plural photoelectric converting elements arranged straight in the longitudinal direction of the base table 10. The SLA3 is contained in the mounting hole provided in the approximate center of the table 10, and is fixed to the table 10 with screws 12a and nuts 12b on both ends of itself. The LEDs 5 are fixed on the inclined surface closer to the original feeding side of the table than the place of the SLA. Also on the table 10, a reflecting surface 11 is provided facing to the LED unit 5. The optical axis of the LED unit 5 is so set as heading toward the reflecting surface 11, so that it can focus the light from the unit 5 on an original-reading position A. A pressing surface 13 to press and hold the original 6 is formed as an integral part of the table 10 on the lower surface of its part toward the feeding side opposite the reading place A.
