PURPOSE:To provide a light-screening agricultural film having improved metallic sheen, heat retaining properties, weather resistance, light screening properties and persistence thereof by using a compsn. obtd. by blending aluminum powder and a white pigment with a vinyl chloride resin by a specified method. CONSTITUTION:A white pigment or said white pigment and carbon black are mixed with a vinyl chloride resin in such a proportion that the resulting mixture gives a 0.03-0.3mm thick film which exhibits light transmittance of 5% or below at a wavelength of 380nm or below. Aluminum powder is then blended with said mixture, and the resulting compsn. is molded into a film of 0.03-0.3mm in thickness by a conventional method. When using the white pigment and carbon black together, it is preferred to use not more than 8pts.wt. carbon black per 100pts.wt. white pigment. A preferred example of the white pigment is titanium oxide. Pref. aluminum powder is used as a mixture of scaly powder and needle powder, and in a quantity of 1-10pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin.
