摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an easily manufacturable fluorescent lamp which has superior life, transparency, thermal resistance and weather resistance by applying a solvent-soluble fluorine polymer containing an ultraviolet ray absorbing agent to the outer surface of the glass tubular bulb to form a film from which ultraviolet rays are not radiated almost entirely and which closely adheres to the glass tubular bulb. CONSTITUTION:The outer surface of the glass tubular bulb of a fluorescent lamp is coated with a solvent-soluble fluorine polymer containing an ultraviolet ray absorbing agent. It is preferably that the intrinsic viscosity of the solvent- soluble fluorine polymer measured in tetrahydrofuran at 30 deg.C be 0.05-2.0dl/g preferably 0.07-0.8dl/g. The intrinsic viscosity lower than the above range results in reduced structural strength of the paint film while the intrinsic viscosity higher than the above range results in deteriorated formation efficiency. Considering the weather resistance and the physical properties of the paint film and availability, an additive polymer such as a copolymer of a fluoroolefin and a hydrocarbon-system vinyl ether can be suitably used as the above fluorine polymer.
